Prime Minister has assured business leaders that electricity and gas supply to the country’s industrial sector will be restored to previous levels by Tuesday night.

Following a meeting, FBCCI Administrator Md. Fazlul Hoque shared the assurance with reporters: “The Prime Minister said that starting tomorrow (Tuesday) night, Insha’Allah, we will be able to return to the previous state of gas and electricity supply prior to the recent surge in the crisis.”

He added, “We believe this is the biggest achievement and the most comforting news from today’s meeting.”

The assurance came during a three-hour meeting held on Monday (September 14) at the Secretariat between the Prime Minister and representatives from 21 trade organizations, including FBCCI, BGMEA, BKMEA, BTMA, and MCCI.

During the press briefing, the exact scope of returning to the “previous state” was not initially clarified. When asked later for elaboration, Fazlul Hoque specified that it refers to rolling back the supply conditions to how they were before the crisis intensified in August.
